I did toy with the idea of going R and voting for McCain, because as I heard one letter-writer say it, he is a "grown up" and will work on good ideas no matter whose they are. But it comes down to the fact that voting for someone right of the Dems, who themselves on average are fairly right of center if you think about it, does not go down easily.
