1. My username is cherydactyl because my long-ago-boyfriend and gm,tlatoani, kept calling me that due to my having a character who was a were-eagle in his DragonQuest campaign. The exact form? "Graawww, it's a Cherydactyl!" whenever my character morphed. Or just because.
2. My journal is titled "Could you hum a few bars?" because I like music and singing, especially as a metaphor for life, and I seem to prefer learning by example.
3. My journal is sub-titled "I'll catch on eventually" because sometimes I figure things out later as opposed to when they are in front of me. You can depend on me to have an ah-ha moment and figure out exactly why I was an idiot that one time. But it also means I don't let things go and have to figure out what went wrong when things do go awry. Also, trial and error is a good backup learning method.
4. My friends page is called "The Bridge" because it is a punne, or play on words (to paraphrase Pterry), referencing the musical theme that has ebbed and flowed in my journal style, as well as the fact that it is a link to my friends far and wide, IRL and online, etc, etc. At one time my journal's user info was titles "the singer," the archive was "past performances" and the link for the recent entries read as "recent melodies." I've not been so vigilant with the musical theming the last couple of times I've changed my style, though.
5. My default userpic is (rotated reasonably often, but) currently a pink blossom:
I've been thinking about changing that to the one I call "Cheryl the Monarch," though. I might have already done that if the wings were dragonfly wings instead of monarch butterfly wings, I think.
Though it's also getting toward warmer weather when I can break out my short, short skorts, linen shirts and other short sleeve blouses, and sandals, yahoo!!! so maybe it's time to rotate this one back to default:
