Book Review
Aug. 7th, 2005 06:48 pmI just finished reading The Time Traveller's Wife.
Structured as alternating first-person narrative of the title character and the time traveler himself, this is a fascinating story told in not-so-linear order. The characters, like the reader, don't always understand the significance of what is happening until later, but I never felt that the author resorted to cheap tricks to hold my interest. There is emotional and physical danger, poignancy, seasoned with large doses of humor. The characters have their flaws, but they are human flaws treated compassionately. I thoroughly enjoyed and heartily recommend it.
