Geek fun: the DM of the Rings
Feb. 8th, 2007 09:48 pmI've been catching up on The DM of the Rings this evening. If you're not a role-player, or at least know some gamers, you probably shouldn't bother. But if you have ever played D&D, this web comic constructed from screen captures of the Lord of the Rings movies will lay you out flat with laughter. It chronicles a gang of "modern hack and slash" RPers being dragged mostly unwillingly through the plot of Lord of the Rings.
Happy reading.

The yoga book for the satirically minded
Dec. 9th, 2006 01:31 pmI just got back from Borders, after doing some birthday and holiday shopping. I found a very amusing book there on display: Bush Yoga.
More images at the web home if you click on the title above.
I leafed through the whole thing. It's not only accurate in the yoga discussion and tips from what I saw, it apparently uses a Dubya action figure to model all the poses. I say apparently because I'm still not 100% convinced at least some of the photos aren't enhanced. The satire is good too.
