I just opened the CD that came in yesterday's mail, The Bobs Sing the Songs of... I am now grooving to their a capella versions of classics like Psycho Killer, Helter Skelter, and Purple Haze. Hahahaha.

The Ring of Fire cover is insanely cheery, echoing the famous Johhny Cash version (which is itself a cover), with its equally insane mariachi horn section. The man was doing serious drugs at the time. My daughter gave me a crazy look when I played Whole Lotta Love. Janey Bob is awesome on Fever. You Really got a Hold on Me and Good Lovin' are a little more traditional as a capella goes, and almost could be anybody. Come Together is a favorite.

And, even more insanely, the booklet is signed by all four of The Bobs. I would never have given this up, had it been mine. Am I the beneficiary of someone taking revenge on their ex by giving away her/his CDs? Did someone decide they're too sane to like the Bobs anymore? I don't know, but I smile when I remember seeing them live at the Michigan, which this CD helps with a lot, since they did many of these covers at that show.

I &hearts The Bobs.

Amazing. You are part of the 4.3% of the population that landed in this category.* You know the game and its history well, and you did amazingly well when it came to playing Calvinball strategically.

This suggests that you probably have a natural talent in Calvinball. You have learned that the trick to doing well in Calvinball is not brute strength, but quick wit. With your natural ability you could go far.

You are definitely already talented enough to beat Calvin. A match versus the quick-witted tiger would be close. I'm going to give you the edge, but his superior knowledge of the game might propel him to victory.
