Games at our house on Friday Dec 26th

If you are in Ann Arbor/Southeast Michigan this holiday and are reading this message, you are invited for board games and hanging out this Boxing Day (December 26), noon to 7pm. We will provide soup or sandwiches or chili or something like that, and will have lemonade, iced tea, and/or kool aid on hand. We will probably make some popcorn, too. If there is a beverage or food you would like to bring to share, please do. But also don't let it stop you from coming if you don't!

If you need directions or have questions, please email me (cherydactyl@livejournal.com works). If you either will be coming or might be coming, please reply or let me know in some way so I can make sure we're not woefully underprovisioned. :)

Have a wonderful holiday. We hope to see you!

ohhh! Double drat and blast!
enjoy yourselves, and one more argument for why xmass should be at my house for the wife (I've converted her into a board game fan, though I still can't get traction on RPGs and she burned out on LARP).

Have fun! I will, sadly, be at work. (UMHS employees don't get the season days that UM employees get.)

They did when I worked there, but that was at least ten years ago. Pity.

UHHC did restructure the time off some years back, but I don't know how long ago and I don't know if they had season days back then. (Remember, patient floors need continually staffing, even during holidays.) If you're paid by the Med School, then you go under central campus rules and get season days. If you're paid by UHHC, you go under UHHC rules.

UHHC employees have only one PTO pool of time that combines personal time and sick time, whereas central campus has PTO and sick time. After 5 years, UHHC salaried employees end up with more time off than central campus, but you gotta put in the years.

Oh, man! This sounds so nice, but I think we are tied up most of the day and then we are having a few friends over for dinner in the evening. :(
