I've been catching up on The DM of the Rings this evening. If you're not a role-player, or at least know some gamers, you probably shouldn't bother. But if you have ever played D&D, this web comic constructed from screen captures of the Lord of the Rings movies will lay you out flat with laughter. It chronicles a gang of "modern hack and slash" RPers being dragged mostly unwillingly through the plot of Lord of the Rings.
Happy reading.

Date: 2007-02-09 05:58 pm (UTC)I love the bit where everyone's afraid to engage the tentacled creature for fear of having to wrap their heads around AOO ... hehehe BEEN THERE MYSELF
and, a must admit, I've uttered a few "gimli-isms" when playing with my kids... "When I used to run a 2nd edition campaign..."
I still complain loudly about how, "They changed THAT too!" when dealing with 3rd edition rules... hehehe
thanks for this.
