VBall tonight

We aren't a great team, but we have lots of spirit and lots of fun. We're in a B-level women's league. Going in to tonight, we were tied for third among four teams. The first two teams were also tied. We played one of the top tier teams, the team that J from my summer sand Free Agent team is on. She is dead good and should really be playing on an A team. We had only 5 players out of our team of 8, but that was okay.

Anyway, we fought hard. We lost the first game 25-18. In the second game, I took a hit to the face that knocked my glasses clean off and bent the crap out of my glasses. A hit from J, even. Next time I get glasses I am going back to the flexon ones, I swear. I got them cleaned up and bent back into shape then we came back to beat them 26 to 24. We went down 25-17 in the last game of the match, but I don't care. It was a really good match, and I was covered in sweat from head to toe by the end of it.

If anybody local A2 happens to want to come out and practice with us, male or female, we practice at 8 pm on Mondays at Burns Park. Feel free. We have several players of our coach's acquaintance show, and we can always use more players. The more the merrier, and if we get enough we could scrimmage.

Man that sounds like so much fun! Volleyball was the one sport I was never all that good at. *laugh* well actually there were many but volleyball was definitely in there. Hehe. I could never serve and my passing was horrid. I am always envious of those that can play! I'm going to live vicariously through you! :D

I serve underhand, 'cause my overhand serve is too wild for primetime. And I'm a setter; I would say I'm our second-best setter. I would never have been a setter in HS. ;-)

If you ever feel like actually watching a match, the current season is at Tappan gym. Games start at either 7:10, 8:20 or 9:30. And the A teams play on the other court and on our court when the B teams aren't using it. Next week we are playing at 8:20.

Ooh, I will have to definitely consider that. What day are the games on again? Tuesday I presume from this being posted yesterday?

Yes, we are on Tuesdays. Other leagues are on other days (I believe there are M and W co-rec leagues and some Men's too. Other than women at Tappan on Tuesdays, I'm not sure who's where on which days. Though I bet if you went to any of the middle schools M-W evening, you are likely to find volleyball going on.
