And you if Tanga, let me know so I can' 'friend' you there and we can be all cliquey and stuff. So far I only have one Tanga friend, a buddy from the all-but-defunct Wolverine Gaming Club.

I'm 'eviljohn' on Tanga. I've never really gotten what the whole friend thing is about there, but I'm game.

Speaking of WGC, are you guys having any regular meetings? I've been meaning to stop by.

We're still having meetings, usually in the Tap Room in the basement of the Union, but they are pretty anemic. You can get on the mailing list to get notices if you like.

Um. I followed the link, it's not terribly informative. How do I subscribe to the list?

If you have a UM ID (I don't know if you do) you can log in and join. If you don't, you pretty much have to email either the moderator/owner or email the list and the moderator will get it.

I would add you if I could, but I am no longer an owner or moderator of the list, as I haven't been an officer for several years at this point.

Sometimes I can't. But I am getting better at them. :) I even was a first answerer on a puzzle night before last! I was stunned to be first! I just wish they posted them a little earlier than 10 pm eastern.

When I looked at the site, there was a "One Word Wonder" posted that I couldn't solve -- a picture of sneakers or cleats or something like that minus L. Train Gamer looked at the site yesterday, and couldn't find a solution posted. Do you know how to get them to tell you solutions, or do you know what the solution to that puzzle was?

Btw, Train Gamer has joined as train_gamer. He got 30 Tanga points the first night, with my help I feel obliged to add. lol I'm a lot better at kibitzing than actually sitting there trying to solve the puzzle. But neither of us could get that one.

If you go the the 'daily fun' tab or page...and click on 'see all' in the upper right corner, you get a list of all of the daily fun puzzles, most recent first. You can view then, attempt to solve, and get hints or the answer for older puzzles. If you solve the puzzle later, you only get one point for most puzzles, though I think it is two for the hypercrosses. That particular puzzle frustrated me too. I swore the answer should have been 'keats.' It turned out that is was actually 'parakeets.'

The ones called 'hard' require logical calculation, multiple steps, and/or research/specialized knowledge. That was properly called an 'easy' one.
