Vacation

I've never been on vacation by myself before.

But this Thursday I am going away for a long weekend without anybody going with me. To a train games convention in Chattanooga. (Yes, I am a geek. And proud of it.)

*dances*

I am not taking my computer; I will probably have like 2 or 3-hundred email messages and 200 LJ posts to read when I get back on Monday, and I expect it to take days to catch up if I ever do.

I only wish I had room to take my yoga mat on the plane.

This one. It's tiny and intimate (<50 people total), and completely dedicated to train games. More than half the participants come to only play 18XX games. illyaa and I have gone twice, in 2004 and 2005. In fact, if you scroll down to the 2005 report, you will see a picture of me there.

Thanks. The last time we were there was the year you were there; it was lots of fun! I wouldn't mind one of those dust gatherers...illyaa has two from the Origins Ticket to Ride Tourneys now; maybe if I get one we would actually manage to start hanging them up somewhere. ;-)

Actually, we've been there twice; the other time was '98 or '99 when MS was working for Primerica -- they had a big convocation going the weekend before, so we just made it an extended vacation.

I'm so jealous! We want to go back, but the budget just hasn't been there.... :-(

because I need to get away! well, mostly clean and do household repairs etc.
