yeah it's long been an irritant of mine that *every* story is about the white boy as the hero. even in "multicultural" programs, all it means is they threw in a couple women (here, 96!) and a black kid or asian sidekick and the white kid still is the "ringleader" of the crew.

jackie chan even lamented that he'd much rather play dramatic roles these days and is saddened by the fact asians can only play comic relief or kung fu, which of course he does both well, and clearly illustrates the point we cannot imagine him playing a romantic lead.

ok i'll stop now because then i run the risk of appearing like a know it all white guy
