Thanks goodness the solstice is here. Now I can look forward to a little more daylight every day. Believe me, this is really important to me. Seasonal Affective Disorder, or something like it, saps my energy about when the sun goes down every evening. And sometimes I get bitchy to boot. (Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] illyaa.)

I am really hating this winter so far. My hands are so dry they are cracking and splitting at the least provocation. I spent an hour yesterday visiting 6 or 7 stores looking for cotton gloves to wear over moisturizer when I go to bed. No luck. One store claimed to usually carry them, but was out. Whole Foods Market is ordering them for me from their health and beauty supplier. I hope I get some soon.

I am also sick *again* ...having just over week ago finished the course of antibiotics for my double ear infection with bronchitis. If I keep this up, I will get pneumonia again. That is not something I want to repeat, even at 15-16 year intervals. I jokingly told dear [livejournal.com profile] illyaa that he needs to get transferred to one of his company's locations in CA. Except that I think CA would wear on me very fast. I have a cousin who lives in Orange County. She seems very happy there, but I could never live like they do. To each their own, I guess.

Oh, and I am typing this from my brand new computer. Yahoo! Setup is still in progress. I don't have my email archives located yet, and need to install lots of stuff still. It's something to do that will keep me sitting still and resting I suppose. Except that both my kids are off of school for two weeks starting tomorrow. So, baking instead. And S wants a new kitten, which we told her she could have. She wants a calico, and to name it Brenda, apparently.

At least all our christmas shopping is done. A few presents still need to be wrapped. Except, oops, J just pointed out that we need to get a present for my sister's boyfriend still. Well, that's okay.

Have a blessed, serene, and super solstice.
