Last night I saw the last three episodes from last (first) season of House, M.D. (Or just "House" if you prefer...) I came to this show while it was in re-runs, and had not yet seen these last three. I love that my library stocks popular TV shows. I wouldn't have seen these episodes if they didn't. I wouldn't have seen Firefly. Both brilliant.

I have liked Hugh Laurie for a long time. I think he is f***ing brilliant in House. If you also like him in House, I would recommend the movie Peter's Friends.

The penultimate story in the first season ("Three Stories") is beyond doubt one of the finest "hours" of television I have seen in a long time. It was by turns hilarious, poignant, frustrating, outrageous, and totally amazing. And it has Carmen Miranda.

I am doubly glad that I got to finish all the first season shows, in order for continuity, before the next new second season episode, due in a little over two weeks, because the dynamic House has with his ex looks very different after seeing these last few episodes.

I especially admire his range. I still haven't seen that much of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie," but even his work in Stuart Little was good work. It totally underutilized his talent, but still.

Yes and as a badguy in 101 Dalmations live action. I love him, thanks. Duly added to my netflix queue. :-) (along with a long list of other series that I want to watch)

I'm glad you mentioned that...I haven't seen it. Just the first one or also the sequel?

I feel a need to check out his credits on IMDB....to find stuff I have missed.

Dunno, I haven't seen the sequel yet.

Seems to me he was also in something else I watched recently... let's see... nope maybe not although I note he was Toad in our favorite BBC "WInd in the WIllows" and that he was in Jeeves and Wooster which I've been really wanting to see. (hey, it's on my amazon.com list but duh maybe netflix has it!) ;-)

He and Stephen Fry are both great in Jeeves and Wooster. It's another example of the frivilous and foolish end of Hugh's wide range. I have some of those that Joe gave me a while back, and I saw quite a few of them on the original run. I highly reccommend it!
