What Language Should You Learn?

Uh, I had 6 years of French in middle and high school. I took through 2nd year French in college. I used to be able to read genre fiction (specifically SF), and have dreamt in French. It's not exactly a NEW language for me.

Well, it told me I should learn Chinese. Which I don't know as well as you know French, but still...

I think Sanskrit may be my next language to tackle. It would be cool for so many reasons, not this least of which is that it is the progenitor for all Indo-European languages, of which there are lots!

At this point my Sanskrit knowledge is pretty impractical for everyday things. E.g., 'asana' means 'posture' or 'pose,' as in 'trikasana' = triangle pose. Yoga is variously translated as 'yoke,' 'union,' and other things depending on who you talk to. *grin*

Somehow I doubt Sanskrit was one of the possible language suggestions for this quiz, eh?

I actually don't know this: does anyone speak Sanskrit as a primary language currently, or is it like Latin?

It's a little like Latin in the 18 and early 19th centuries at this point, mostly dead but being used for certain purposes (academic/scientific Latin then, academic, religious, and other yoga oriented things for Sankrit now). I don't think it's a fully live language right now though.
