Tonight we went to the Ann Arbor Art Fairs Townie Party. We added stickers to the big A2 area map: two yellow ones for [livejournal.com profile] illyaa and I, who moved here; two green ones for our two kids, who were "born here." Then we browsed the booths, entered a drawing, and snagged some loot (coupon books, various flyers, an Ann Arbor/Ypsi guide from the CVBs, some safety flashers, free Art Fair shuttle passes and four free trip passes for the local bus system, frisbees, lip balm, bagels, cheese samples, milk in aseptic drink boxes, and a directory and atlas from the Chamber). The transit authority was doing their giveaways via a wheel of fortune--I *almost* got the 30-day bus pass but it went to the safety flasher instead. I made [livejournal.com profile] illyaa sign up for the summer reading program at the library booth, since he had not yet done that. The kids scammed lots of candy from the guys at the WEMU booth while I picked up an NPR atlas/map.

The food at the party was kind of pricey (e.g., $9 for a small guac, and $2 for a plain taco or a slice of pizza) and not of great variety, so we took off for Jerusalem Garden for dinner after the drum line performance. Yum! (And only $25 including tip for all four of us.) We walked back by after dinner, but had to get going to get the kids to bed sort of on time. As we were leaving, an old roommate of mine, Claudette G., was walking up with her husband. It turns out she is in town working on a PhD. You go girl! We exchanged contact info and said we'd get together. I'm totally psyched about catching up with her!
