insomnia again, but a better attitude

Well, M started all-day preschool today (thursday...I guess that's technically yesterday). We signed S up for full-day day camp for next week and the week after, at her request. It's going to be practically a vacation! No kids for 7-8 hours per day all week! Job hunting and prep for summer camp are the things at the top of my agenda.
In a few weeks, I will teach various games at S's school summer camp. I kick off with Magic and RoboRally. I am not looking forward to teaching Magic, but it's sold out, what can ya do? :) I get to be a bit more low key the second week teaching Kids of Catan and other stuff to the littlest ones.
Then, I need a decent job at least half time. Ideal would be 30 hours, but full time is fine. I've already applied for some library jobs and there is another that popped up on my search tonight. S says I need a job so she can go to aftercare every day when school starts again. Sometimes I wonder if I should be upset or worried that she doesn't want to spend time with me, or relax and just be glad she's so independent.
J made dinner. While I cleaned up, the kids and I were dancing to Howard Jones' greatest hits. So bouncy. His lyrics always simple, some of them way obscure. Dancing always lifts my mood. "Like to get to know you well, like to get to know you *well*, like to get to know you well, so we can be one, we can be one, together."
Maybe it's me projecting, but now I see definite buddhist themes in his lyrics, especially "What is Love?" and "Things Can Only Get Better." "Look Mama" is *still* a little too accurate for true comfort though!!
I still find the Phil Collins treatment that got applied to "No One is to Blame" extremely distasteful. Phil Collins' version seems to be a lesson in clinging, with all the embellishment he put on that song. Yuk! Give me the original any day. Unfortunately, the version on the greatest hits is...the P. C. one. Hey...Phill Collins is PC...that seems to fit. :p
I'm slowly re-acquiring albums that I wore out on cassette as a teen, only on cd now. I already bought HJ's Human's Lib (first album), now I need to get Dream Into Action (the even better follow up). I'm still debating if I want to get all the Tubes stuff, but I've already acquired lots of Duran Duran. :) Ultravox may be too depressing, or maybe linked with my teen angst. I probably better skip that group. :)
I'm going to see if I can grab a few hours' sleep here. Third try...
